Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, said that there are a number of countries that insist on condemning only one party and not the other, and there are other countries that do not want to talk about a ceasefire.

The presidential spokesman added, during an intervention with Sky News satellite channel, commenting on the Cairo Peace Summit, that there were points of understanding and points of disagreement, explaining that the basic points of disagreement are already apparent and were previously reflected in Security Council resolutions that were not issued, and many other occasions, noting that There are a number of countries that insist on condemning only one party, and a number of other countries believe that there is no room to talk about a ceasefire now.

Egypt’s position is clear

The presidential spokesman added, saying that Egypt’s position is clear in the words issued by President Sisi, and then the Egyptian presidency’s statement, which places everyone on responsibility, and makes it completely clear that there is an utmost necessity to work on the humanitarian level, then to move towards calm, and then revive the path of the peace process.
