Egyptian Observatory Launches “100 Days of Health” Initiative to Expand Access to Healthcare Services

The Egyptian Observatory of the Egyptian Center for Thought and Strategic Studies announced the launch Initiative “100 days of health” On June 25, 2023, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which is a product of the services of the presidential initiative “100 Million Health”, and aims to expand the provision of all public health initiatives services, and intensify work within a period of time of “100 days”, while ensuring the availability of services With the required quality for all target groups, with an emphasis on the continuity of free referral, diagnosis and treatment for all citizens, whether Egyptians, resident foreigners, refugees or asylum seekers residing on Egyptian soil.

The Observatory stated that the presidential health initiatives that were launched during the past few years contributed to strengthening the health system, after many years in which the Egyptian citizen suffered from health neglect. These initiatives also contributed to achieving comprehensive health care by focusing on combating diseases that most affect the citizen. ; With the aim of reducing prevalence and mortality rates, such as: infectious diseases (viral hepatitis, schistosomiasis, and tuberculosis), and non-communicable chronic diseases (heart, diabetes, and kidney failure). And as a continuation of the process of achieving integrated health care for every citizen, the “100 Days of Health” initiative was launched.

Initiative services

The Observatory stated that the “100 Health Days” initiative was launched under the slogan “Go down, reveal and be assured from everywhere in Egypt,” which targets 105 million Egyptian citizens in 27 governorates, to provide all health services, whether preventive, which includes vaccinations, treatment, and reproductive health services, in addition to raising The level of awareness and changing misconceptions through the community communication teams, and the initiative provides its services for free within 100 days.

The initiative includes more than 500 convoys, 5,000 basic care units, and 700 hospitals nationwide. The initiative will be found in: vital places, health units, clinics and mobile convoys. It includes providing family planning, reproductive health and women’s health services free of charge, in addition to providing 6 mobile cars to provide the “mammogram” service, and women’s health support services such as awareness of breast self-examination, and a car was also provided to provide magnetic resonance examination services, which is the first of its kind in Africa. , and 3 cars to provide CT scan services, while providing treatment decisions at the expense of the state.
