The Egyptian national team succeeded in snatching the qualification card for the Olympic Games, which will be held in the French capital, Paris in 2024, and qualifying for the final of the U-23 African Cup of Nations, after its victory over Guinea with a clean goal, on Tuesday, in the Golden Square competitions in the continental competition.
The “Pharaohs” surprised the Guinea national team, in the eighth minute of the match, with an early goal, scored by El-Jaish club player Mohamed Shehata, with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, which hit goalkeeper Morey Keita, after a distinguished “assistant” from Ahmed Katta, the talent of the Pyramids team.
The Guineans imposed their control over most of the match, creating many chances to score, but the Egyptian goalkeeper Hamza Alaa imposed himself as the star of the confrontation, with his brilliance in repelling all the attacks made by the opposing team.
It is noteworthy that the second semi-final match will bring together the tournament organizer, the Moroccan national team, with the financial team, where the first three places qualify for the Paris Olympics, while the fourth team plays the supplement matches.
