Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, commented on the acquisition of other Arab nationalities by some Egyptian art icons and public figures, the latest of which was the artist Mohamed Henedy’s announcement of his acquisition of Saudi citizenship.
The Minister said, during a telephone conversation with the journalist Sayed Ali, on the “Hazrat Al-Muwatin” program, on Saturday evening, that the sisterly Arab countries always consider Egypt their second country.
She pointed out that Egypt opens its doors all the time to all people, and contains all the nationalities of the world, especially the sisterly Arab countries, saying that many Egyptians hold other nationalities.
She added: “Throughout their lives, Egyptians acquire other nationalities from all countries in the world. This does not prevent them from belonging to their country and their patriotism. There is no doubt about this matter.”
