The Egyptian Medicines Authority decided to seize and seize a number of operations for 5 pharmaceutical items since the beginning of this year, due to the existence of “commercial fraud” or not conforming to the specifications.

The first periodic publication included the seizure and seizure of the packages of the Atosuril 0.5% 500mg /100mg powder, which bear lot number 213772.

The authority explained that the decision is due to the fact that the product was issued to him not conforming to the batch indicated by the authority’s laboratories.

Atozorel 0.5% is a veterinary preparation used as an additive for poultry feed.

As for the second circular, the authority revealed the existence of commercial adulteration of Deltaclav 457mg/5ml, for batches No. 213543, 220634, 220820, and all other batches that conform to the specifications mentioned in the counterfeit package as contained in the circular.

Delta Clav is used as an antibiotic for children to treat various infections, whether ear infection or pneumonia.

The Egyptian Medicines Authority also warned of counterfeit packages in the market for a drug called “Ciprocin 500 mg tablets”, which is used to treat various types of bacterial infections such as pneumonia, sinus infections, skin, ear, nose, stomach and urinary tract infections.

The authority said in its publication No. 3 of 2023 that the counterfeit packages of operations No. 2104691 and 2101405 are produced by the Egyptian International Company “EPICO”, ​​noting the possibility of outwardly distinguishing between the original and counterfeit packages in terms of cardboard material and the degree of color separation in the counterfeit packages, as well as the logo. company.

In its fourth circular, the authority warned of counterfeit packages of “Viagra 100 mg”, explaining that the adulterated packages were manufactured by Viatris Company for batch number: 3148002 and all other batches that conform to the specifications mentioned in the counterfeit package as contained in the circular.

As for the fifth circular, the Egyptian Medicines Authority directed the seizure and seizure of packages of the “Zora C tablet” preparation from the market, for the operations bearing numbers: 01200243 and 01200513.

The drug is used to treat pain associated with inflammation, and an antiseptic for the mouth and throat, at a time when the authority indicated that the product was issued not conforming to the operations indicated by the Egyptian Medicines Authority laboratories.
