The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a cleaner and a driver in the case of the killing of an Omani citizen, who previously held the position of media attaché at the embassy in Cairo, on Monday morning, in the capital, Cairo.
After forming a research team with the participation of the public security sector, efforts resulted in identifying the perpetrators of the crime, a cleaning lady and a driver, residing in the Shebin al-Qanater police station, according to the Interior Ministry’s statement.
According to the statement, the cleaning lady admitted that she worked for the victim and that they had a relationship, and that she had arranged the incident with the intention of stealing, in agreement with the second accused, who had delivered her to the dead man’s apartment.
The Egyptian Interior Ministry said that according to what the two defendants admitted, “while she was with the victim, she assaulted him with a sharp object (knife) and stabbed him several times until he died, and she seized (14 mobile phones of different brands – 7 watches of different brands – a camera – an iron safe – sums of money). Financial (local and foreign currencies).
Confronting the second accused, he admitted to the contents of the above and stated that he had hidden the stolen items and that he had changed a sum of money in foreign currency with a person, who was in turn arrested, and “all the stolen items were seized,” according to the statement.
The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo announced, on Monday, that it was following up with the Egyptian authorities on the circumstances of the killing of an Omani citizen this morning in Cairo.
The embassy said in a statement on the “X” platform: “With great regret and sadness, the embassy received news of the killing of an Omani citizen in Cairo this morning, Monday, September 18, and as a result, the embassy is following up with the competent Egyptian authorities on the details of the incident, and the embassy expresses its confidence in the competence of the Egyptian authorities in uncovering the circumstances. The case is to achieve the desired justice.”
A newspaper reported Omani vision The citizen previously held the position of media attaché at the Omani embassy in Cairo, noting that the local authorities found him “covered in his blood” in his home located in the Mohandiseen area.
