Experts and observers of Egyptian economic affairs expected that the government would raise the prices of petroleum products and fuel during the coming period in light of the price adjustment policy that began in 2024.
The Petroleum Products Pricing Committee, which is responsible for setting fuel prices in Egypt, is reviewing prices and studying the options before it to adjust the price of petroleum products in light of the new pound exchange rates and international oil prices.

The sources expected the increase to be between 20 and 25 percent of the current price, while Al Arabiya channel stated in a previous report that the increase would be only 10 percent.
