Egyptian artist Ashraf Moselhi passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 49, after a long struggle with cancer and being exposed to successive health crises.
The Egyptian artist, who had been absent from the artistic and cinematic scene for a long time, suffered a long health setback, after he developed a malignant brain tumor, and had surgery to remove it.
His wife, Egyptian director Manal Al-Saifi, had previously confirmed that there is a medical team accompanying her husband around the clock, and its only goal is to preserve his life, especially since the cancer he suffers from is classified as one of the most dangerous types.
Ashraf Moselhi presented about 70 artistic works during his career, the last of which was two years ago when he participated in the series “The Peacock” alongside Gamal Suleiman. He also previously worked as a director of cinemas, but illness forced him to disappear from the artistic scene.
After the artist’s death, a number of movie stars mourned him, most notably Hend Sabry, who offered condolences on the death of her late colleague, and offered condolences to his wife and friend, director Manal Al-Saifi. Mohamed Henedy, director Khaled Galal, artist Ihab Fahmy, and Naglaa Badr also mourned him.
