Lada Granta cars have gone on sale in Egypt at a very handsome price. The seller promises to sell a new sedan at half the price in Russia – for only 518 thousand in rubles. However, AVTOVAZ received the news without enthusiasm and called it an unprofessional performance.

At first glance, there is nothing surprising because the Lada Granta has come to conquer the African market, it seems not: the car giant is talking about plans to replace the model launched in Egypt. said this spring. But the price is really amazing. As follows from the YallaMotor website, a new Lada Granta sedan with a manual transmission can be bought for 285 thousand Egyptian pounds, a change with an automatic transmission will cost 370. Or translated into Russian money at the exchange rate of today – 518.7 and 673, 4 thousand rubles respectively. And used cars are usually offered for next to nothing according to our standards.

In the description of the model, the seller emphasizes the 1.6 cc engine, cloth seats, ABS, and also that the sedan is “known for being durable,” which, apparently , depending on the desert heat levels, is an important detail.

For comparison, at Piter-Lada, the largest Lada dealer in St. 1.007 million rubles for money.

Prices for a car from Xazar-lada, the general importer and official distributor of AVTOVAZ in Azerbaijan, start from 17.5 thousand Azerbaijani manats, that is, from 954 thousand Russian rubles.

AVTOVAZ noted that the importers of Lada today are in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

– As mentioned (sold in Egypt. – Approx. right.) The car’s only equipment is ABS and interior fabric. Currently, Lada cars are not officially supplied to Egypt. This is an initiative by an Egyptian company that we don’t know,” Sergei Ilyinsky, head of the AVTOVAZ press center, told Fontanka.

The company did not claim that the low price is used as a tool to “attract” customers to the salon.

However, no matter how attractive the price of a car in Egypt is, there is no economic sense in bothering to buy it in Africa and transport it to Russia. In total, with everything, it will cost much more: in addition to the Egyptian price tag there will be 7%, or 36.2 thousand rubles, of customs duties, and delivery will cost another 450 thousand. And only if the buyer came to Egypt sometimes or on vacation, because otherwise he would have to pay an additional 100 thousand rubles ​​for the flight.
