The Egyptian actress, Arwa Gouda, lives in a state of happiness and optimism after the success achieved by her new movie “Day 13”, which continues to top the revenues of the Eid Al-Fitr film season, where Arwa co-starred with the artists Ahmed Dawoud, Dina El-Sherbiny, Sherif Mounir, Nisreen Amin, Mahmoud Abdel-Moghni, Jumana Murad and Ahmed Zaher. It is written and directed by Wael Abdullah.
Arwa Gouda confirmed, in an interview with “Sky News Arabia”, her great happiness with the positive reactions that the film received, as it is the first Egyptian film to succeed in using 3D technology to attract the audience, stressing that she did not expect all this success that was achieved.
And the movie “Day 13” takes place in a frame of terror, as Ezz El-Din, who embodies his character, the artist Ahmed Daoud, returns from abroad after an absence of many years, searching for his family, and while staying in his family’s palace, he discovers an unexpected adventure inside the palace.
Arwa said about her role in the work: “I embody a character bearing the name “Toraya”, which is different from all my previous roles, and thank God, I sensed a great response from the audience about my role in the work.
Wael Abdullah mobilized our energies
Arwa referred to the reasons for the success of “Day 13”, explaining this by saying: “The director Wael Abdullah brought a group of excellent and light-hearted actors, and of course the theme was dazzling and the decor was designed in a more than wonderful style. He had the ability to employ artists and mobilize their creative energies to the maximum degree, And thank God the actors themselves were very harmonious.”
And about the reason behind her participation in that experience, she said: “The idea of the movie is very tempting, especially since it is being implemented as a movie with 3D technology, and for me this is an important thing. My participation in a new experience of this kind in Egyptian cinema is very important, especially since there were previous experiences.” For three-dimensional projects, but they did not succeed, or they did not see the light yet, as they say.
She added, “The experiment took a long time, but, thank God, the result was very satisfactory.”
Revenues
And about whether she expected a horror movie to top the holiday revenues, despite the strong competition with other films, she said: “It was a very nice surprise.. The truth is that I am the type who keeps his expectations between himself, I was sure that the movie would attract the audience, and people would love it, especially because I Those who watch horror movies, and I realize that the greater the amount of horror in them, the more successful and attractive they are to viewers.

Arwa added that on a personal level, when she watched the work, she was terrified, saying: “As for me, I was afraid of the horror scenes in the movie. I was terrified or closed my eyes like children until the scene ended, and I did not dare to watch it except in the presence of someone with me to break the fear and fear.”
And she continued, “I am not a horror movie addict, but I was primarily attracted to his story, the professionalism of the team and the effects used. These are things that make you live in the heart of the event, in the heart of horror!”

Regarding Arwa Gouda’s upcoming projects, she said: “I am waiting for the show of the series” Psychological War “, which I co-starred with the late artist Mustafa Darwish, and I wish he would be with us while watching the work show, but it is God’s will.”
