Egypt to Begin Production of High-Speed Electric Train: The Seventh Day Reports

The Egyptian Ministry of Transport confirmed that manufacturing has begun Express electric train It is scheduled to operate in Egypt as part of the fast train network system implemented by Egypt, with a length of approximately 2000 km, on 3 lines linking all Egyptian cities.

The Ministry of Transport stated that express trains and regional trains of the fast electric train network are manufactured inside the Siemens company’s factory in Krefeld, Germany, according to the latest international technology systems, and the quantitative production of trains for Egypt is now taking place.

The new system of the fast electric train network in Egypt consists of 3 main lines with a length of 2000 km, where the first line is a line similar to the Suez Canal in its strategic importance, and it will link the city of Ain Sukhna on the Red Sea with the cities of Alexandria, El Alamein and Matrouh on the Mediterranean, with a length of 660 km.

Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir confirmed, Minister of TransportThe high-speed electric train system will represent a huge quantum leap in the means of transportation in Egypt, and will cover all parts of the Republic. In addition to being development arteries that serve new and existing urban and industrial areas, it will contribute to reducing and shortening the time of trips between the governorates for more than half the time that the citizen currently spends. Whether through the old train network or through the current roads linking the governorates, it also serves the transportation of goods between ports and governorates and shortens the time period for transporting these goods.

The new high-speed railway network represents a reliable, safe and sustainable means of transport for citizens and freight to all parts of the country. This giant project also contributes to creating thousands of job opportunities, stimulating economic growth in Egypt, and improving the quality of life of millions of Egyptians every day.
