Egypt.. The State Information Service comments on the postponement of the truce in Gaza – Sky News Arabia Sky News Arabia

The head of the Egyptian State Information Service, Diaa Rashwan, said on Thursday that “everyone adheres to the truce agreement in the Gaza Strip,” noting that the consultation currently concerns detailed executive procedures.

The truce, which was brokered by Egypt, Qatar and the United States, was supposed to go into effect on Thursday morning, but Israeli officials said that would not happen before Friday.

The truce stipulates a cessation of fighting for 4 days, and Hamas releasing 50 of its detainees in exchange for Israel releasing 150 Palestinian prisoners, and bringing aid and fuel shipments into the besieged Gaza Strip.

Rashwan stated in a telephone interview with Sky News Arabia:

  • Contacts and consultations are continuing with all parties regarding the truce agreed upon in the Gaza Strip.
  • Everyone is adhering to the truce, but the details take time to implement.
  • What is currently being consulted on are the detailed executive procedures required to be implemented and adhered to by both parties to the armistice agreement.
