Al-Marsad newspaper: Many controversies have arisen in recent days, after the increase in entrance fees to the Citadel of Salah al-Din, which according to some occurred because an UAE investor obtained a right of usufruct to manage the archaeological site .
The Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Dr. Mustafa Waziri, has denied reports that the government has approved the request of the Ministry of Antiquities to enter into a contract with an Emirati company to obtain a usufruct right for the area of the Citadel of Salah al-Din.
Waziri stressed that the ministry does not deal with Emiratis or private companies, stressing that the ministry deals with sovereign agencies in the country only to complete these contracts.
Sources have indicated, according to media reports, that Salah El-Din Citadel has witnessed a significant increase in entrance ticket prices in recent days, as the ticket price has risen from £5 to £65, which has prompted many to question the sudden increase .
The sources pointed out that while visiting the castle, some confirmed that the price increase was due to the new investor in charge of managing the place.
