Egypt, Somalia, and Eritrea… joint statement from the tripartite summit in Asmara

  • The leaders of the three countries emphasized the need to adhere to the fundamental principles and pillars of international law as they are an essential basis for stability and regional cooperation, in particular full respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the countries of the region, opposing interference in the internal affairs of these countries under any accusation or justification, and coordinating joint efforts to achieve regional stability, and creating a climate that supports common development and stable.
  • Developing and deepening cooperation and coordination between the three countries to strengthen institutional capacities Somali state To face various internal and external challenges, and enable the Somali National Federal Army to face terrorism in all its forms, protect its land and sea borders, and preserve territorial integrity.

      The crisis in Sudan and its regional implications.

      – Security issues and cooperation between the coastal states of the Red Sea and the Strait of Bab al-Mandab in the context of its importance as a vital sea corridor.
      – Diplomatic coordination mechanisms and joint efforts between the three countries.
    • Welcoming the efforts made by both the State of Eritrea and the Republic of Eritrea Egypt Arab League in supporting stability in fraternal Somalia and enhancing the capabilities of the federal government, and commending the offer of the Arab Republic of Egypt to contribute forces within the framework of peacekeeping efforts in Somalia .
    • It was agreed to establish a tripartite joint committee of the foreign ministers of Eritrea, Egypt and Somalia for strategic cooperation in all fields.
