Hi Cora – Uruguayan legend Diego Forlan says his compatriot Edinson Cavani could move to Argentine club Boca Juniors after the end of his contract with his club Paris Saint-Germain.
Uruguayan reports stated that the player is already close to returning to South America after a fourteen-year career in European stadiums.
During his comments to radio in Uruguay, Forlan said: “I imagine the Boca Juniors shirt is no less powerful than its rivals River Plate, and they both have a reputation on the continent.”
He continued, “They are in constant competition for winning the League and Copa Libertadores as well.”
He added: “There are many difficulties facing the return of the major players to their first clubs and leaving the European stadiums, most notably the financial aspect, as it is not possible to compare what they are charging in Europe from what they will receive here.”
He continued: “But if we look at the professional side, not the economic one, then the representation of one of the top clubs in Argentina is an attractive challenge, of course.”
He continued: “Cavani is one of the best players in the world and I can see him in Argentina and he will achieve great success there.”
Cavani’s contract with Paris expires at the end of the season, where he participated in 300 games with his shirt, during which he scored 200 goals, the club’s historical goal scorer.
