Egypt Denies Israeli Military Activity near Rafah Crossing, Gaza Strip

The Egyptian denial comes after the Israeli “Wala” website announced the activity of Israeli armored vehicles and Israeli army vehicles near the Kerem Shalom crossing towards the Rafah crossing on the line called the “Philadelphia axis.”

Israel was avoiding working on this axis to avoid provoking the Egyptian side, according to the Walla report.

Crossings Authority response

The Palestinian Crossings Authority in Gaza issued a statement indicating that “the Egyptian side denied to us any information it had about the enemy’s intention to move militarily along the Palestinian-Egyptian border axis.”

The statement added: “All field information about military movements on the border with Egypt from Kerem Shalom is incorrect.”

Violent Israeli military operations continue in the Gaza Strip, amid reports of material and loss of life among members of the Israeli army.

Israeli Channel 12 said, “The Israeli army is attacking from the air and land in Jabalia, where violent clashes are taking place in the neighborhood located in the northern Gaza Strip.”

Residents reported heavy smoke rising above the refugee camp and continuous air strikes, in addition to tank shelling.
