In the presence of hundreds of villagers and neighboring villages, Al-Qanater Al-Khairiya in Egypt’s Al-Qalyubia Governorate, the funeral was held for the three brothers whom the villagers called “Birds of Paradise”, after being died in a fire that broke out in their bedroom due to an electrical short.
The people of the village greet the three brothers: Youssef Muhammad Awwad (16), a first grade student of Al-Azhar Institute in Al-Qanater Al-Khairiya, and his sister Shorouq (12). , a second-grade preparatory school student at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Girls’ Institute in Al-Qanater Al-Khairiya, and their brother Awad (age 8), a fourth-grade primary school student at the Institute Al-Azhar to Al-Qanater Al-Khairiya.
While the mourning of the three brothers, memorizers of the Holy Quran, continued, their father wept for them, repeating: “They died in each other’s arms.”

The “Al-Masry Al-Youm” newspaper quoted his father, Muhammad Awad Salem, as saying that he came to his house on the day of the incident at exactly 10.30pm, and went to his bedroom, with her young son Hamza, while her three children slept in a separate room. He panicked at the screams of people and those in the house due to a fire that broke out in the children’s bedroom due to an electrical short.
The father said: “I found Youssef who didn’t want to leave the room because of his sisters, and they also wanted to go out with him, and within minutes the children were dead.”
The Qalyubia Security Directorate had received notification of a fire at Sweissy’s home in Qanater and the presence of deaths in the fire. Firefighters were dispatched, the fire was brought under control and the bodies were transported to the ‘hospital.
The inspection revealed that the fire started at dawn in the house of Muhammad Awad Salem, of Izbat Ayati, affiliated with Qanater Charity Center and City, and was found to be caused by an electrical short, and the examination of the house, it was found to be a house built of white brick.
