Efteling placed additional obstacles between the parking lot and the main entrance on Wednesday. The amusement park in Kaatsheuvel does this a day after a man drove his car to the cash register.
The 25-year-old man drove to the entrance of the Efteling at very low speed on Tuesday. There are posts to prevent this, but due to the low speed the driver managed to maneuver between them.
A saliva test showed that the man was under the influence of drugs. According to a police spokesperson, there were no malicious intentions behind the action and the driver was confused. The police have filed a report against the man.
Efteling placed concrete blocks, a boulder and extra posts on Wednesday to prevent cars from reaching the entrance. That is a temporary solution. The amusement park does not see the incident as a reason to panic, but has taken measures to make visitors feel safe during their visit.
“It should be a fun, carefree day out. Now it was a false alarm, but we are erring on the side of caution,” a spokesperson said. Broadcasting Brabant know.
