Dylan Neuhausen is a professional in the video game FIFA and German champion in eFootball. His favorite club in the Bundesliga is SC Freiburg.
Dylan “DullenMIKE” Neuhausen is one of the best FIFA players in the world. At the age of 16 he played his first international tournament and has now cleared the “Grand Final” of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL). After narrowly missing out on the title twice, he was able to secure the championship trophy and thus 40,000 euros in prize money at the beginning of June.
The 19-year-old prevailed 5-0 (1-0 on Xbox and 4-0 on PlayStation) against last year’s champion Umut “RBLZ_Umut” Gültekin. “I still can’t realize it,” says Dylan in an interview with SWR Sport. At the tournament, Dylan represented the Swiss eSports organization “NEO” and decided to play in the Freiburg jersey.

“DullenMIKE” is a big fan of SC Freiburg
When you play for an organization, you always have to choose a Bundesliga team. It was clear to Dylan which jersey he wanted to wear: that of the Breisgauer. The fact that the SCF has not yet started in eSports was not important to the eFootball player.
“I didn’t care at all. I wore the jersey last year because I just like the club.”
His father used to be a Freiburg fan. When Dylan started to follow the Breisgauer, players like Papiss Demba Cissé were still playing and Christian Streich was just becoming a coach. 19-year-old Neuhausen was born in Emmendingen near Freiburg, but later moved. But the love for SC Freiburg remained.
“I liked it so much back then and since then it’s just always been the same club,” says Neuhausen. “DullenMIKE” finds simple words for Streich: “Super Trainer”. He always finds the press conferences particularly cool. “As a Freiburg fan, you don’t have any coaching worries, as is the case with other clubs,” says the eSportsman. Some SC Freiburg players also wrote to him after he won the championship and congratulated him.
Not a long break after winning the championship
Barely a week after the final, the “FIFA Club Series” started with the decisive qualification for the Club World Cup in Copenhagen. For Dylan, it is the first Club World Cup he has qualified for in his fourth FIFA season with his team-mate.
Now Dylan can relax a bit and go on vacation to Mallorca with his buddies. At the end of June it’s time to give everything again. The singles playoffs for the world championship are coming up. The World Championships in Copenhagen will follow in mid-July. This ends the season, i.e. a vacation for the FIFA professionals until the new game appears in October.
eFootball is now Dylan’s main job
A coach, hours of training sessions and a lot of energy: What he started with FIFA 10 on Playstation 3 from his father is no longer just a pastime, but his main job. “If you do it professionally, you can make a living from it. We get a monthly salary and then there’s the prize money.”
The eSport is developing more and more. The German championship was even shown on television. It was an important step for the 19-year-old: “If chess is a sport, eFootball has long been.”
