“EFootball 2022” turns into a mega-flop.

Konami’s “eFootball 2022” was released recently. The game should actually be a real competition for “FIFA 22”, but it is far from that.
The news has now spread among gamers: The new “eFootball 2022” * has unfortunately turned out to be a big disappointment. This means that “FIFA 22” remains on the throne of the soccer games this year as well. Konami’s new beginning with “eFootball 2022” went badly wrong. The Free2Play model initially sounded like a sensible measure to lure players away from “FIFA”, but numerous bugs, bad character models* and zombie-like spectators in the virtual stadium overshadow everything else.
“EFootball 2022” is an incomplete game
In the 2000s it was always a head-to-head race between “FIFA” and “Pro Evolution Soccer”. Although “PES” is mostly the Licenses were missing to use the official names, badges and jerseys of real teams, the game had a very loyal following, which the tactical depth very much appreciated. In the past ten years, however, “FIFA” has established itself as the top dog in football simulations. “EFootball 2022” will not change anything about that, since the current version is incomplete in almost every way. At the moment, players can only play friendly matches with only nine teams to choose from. Ironically, Lionel Messi is featured on the cover of the game, but Konami couldn’t afford the rights to the PSG team he actually plays for.

If at least that Gameplay would fit, the current version could have been described as a little foretaste, as Konami is still planning to publish a lot of content. However, there is little to be seen of the old strengths. “EFootball 2022” is very bumpy on the virtual soccer field. And also the tactical options are very limited. On Reddit and in Steam Reviews the judgments are therefore devastating.
