EFKA – full digitization: The individual portofolio and what it will give to the insured –

At the end of 2025, EFKA puts into operation the digital individual portfolio for each insured person. It is an individual portofolio which will include services and information directly accessible to all insured persons.

In particular, the insured will be able to access – via their mobile phone – information about their badges, years of insurance, contributions, insurance capacity, payment of their pension, the right to retroactive amounts, and even making an appointment with the services of the insurance fund.

The plan of EFKA

The project is in its implementation phase with the aim of creating an integrated and unified repository of insurance history, where tons of paper materials are converted into reliable digital data.

In this direction, two distinct digitization projects of the Agency’s paper archive have been designed and launched, which are financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund (TAA) and the NSRF.

The object of the projects is the scanning, documentation and data extraction of the insurance history from a total of 53 million paper file pages of the oldest social security institutions that joined the EFKA.

This is one of the first digitization projects in our country that utilize modern artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to extract data from a paper file, reducing the associated costs and increasing the quality of the extracted data.

Digitization

The digitization of the files concerns the stamps before 2001 and in some cases before 1998, so that the file of each insured person is complete, who will be able to have a clear picture and direct access to his insurance resume. That is, he will be able to see all his badges and insurance time electronically.

This is currently – partially – possible through the “ATLAS” system, as everyone’s insurance CV is displayed, but with stamps – mainly – from 2001 onwards.

The pensioner will have the possibility to see his pension at any time on his mobile phone his pension decision, to see when his monthly pension is paid, if he is entitled retroactively or when the three-year period for the widow’s pension has passed.

It should be noted that with the implementation of all these electronic features, the insured will not depend on the bank to be informed about the payment of the pension, as there will be an automatic notification on his mobile phone that will inform him of the exact amount.

Also regarding his contributions, he will know when and if they were paid by his employer (if he is employed) or when the payment ID was issued for professionals and farmers. In this way, the period of insurance, debts and the existence or non-existence of insurance capacity will be immediately known.

Finally, the digital portfolio will be interconnected with the disability card service, as well as with IDIKA, so that the “movement” of the referrals as well as the prescription of medicines is displayed.
