Effendi also explained that he had tried to establish communication with TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and KSAD General Dudung Abdurachman via a message application to discuss his statement which sparked criticism from TNI soldiers in various regions. . The commander, he said, said there were no problems and that it was clear, while Dudung did not respond.
“Two days ago I spoke to the commander and the chief of staff of the army. Yesterday I met the commander in chief asking about the attitude of the TNI and I apologized. The commander said there were no problems, so it is was very clear. Please, friends, ask directly, it is better if the person concerned communicates it, “said Effendi.
“Dudung did not respond. I am responsible for what I say,” he added.
Earlier, the statement by DPR RI Commission I member Effendi Simbolon, who brushed the TNI as a gang, sparked criticism from the military during the RI DPR Commission I Hearing Meeting (RDP) with the Ministry. of Defense and the TNI in Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (5/9).
At that time, TNI officials were present from the TNI commander to the entire Army Chief of Staff, with the exception of the Army Chief of Staff, General Dudung Abdurachman. Dudung’s absence prompted Effendi Simbolon to criticize the TNI.
Effendi said he wanted to get an explanation from TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and Army Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman. According to him, there is disharmony between the two four-star generals.
Effendi’s statement also sparked criticism from numerous TNI soldiers in the region. Some of them even recorded videos of their anger and criticism, which went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, TNI AD headquarters denied that there were any special instructions for soldiers to respond to Effendi Simbolon’s statement at the meeting that was not attended by the Army Chief of Staff, General Dudung Abdurachman.
