Suffering from itching? Then you first think of scratching. We say: don’t do it! Once you start scratching, the itching only seems to get worse. This is what you can do to relieve the itching?

1. Apply to your itchy skin every day
Dry skin itches more often. Moisturize your skin every day crème. In addition, protect your skin against heat and cold, do not shower too hot and wear gloves when you clean.

2. Find out if you are hypersensitive to something

3. Use home, garden and kitchen remedies for itching
For the most home, garden and kitchen products there is no evidence of its effect against it itchbut for many people they can at least temporarily soothe the itching:
- Stop some ice cubes in a washcloth to soothe the itching.
- Dab some mentholpoeder on the itchy spot.
- Soak a cloth or bandage apple cider vinegar and wrap it around the itchy area.
- Give the itchy part of the body a bath oatmeal.
- Rub your itchy spot with a mixture of honing and cinnamon.

4. Get a cream from the pharmacy
There are various anti-itch remedies available over the counter from pharmacies. An ointment with lidocaine, for example; Lidocaine numbs the skin, reducing itching. Ask your pharmacy for advice. Or use Nestosyl.
5. Use anti-histamines
When itch is caused by an allergic reaction histamine free. In that case, you can use antihistamines to control the allergic reaction.
6. Don’t scratch too hard
Is it really necessary to to scratch, don’t do it too hard. Scratch between your nails and skin with a layer of clothing. Or gently squeeze, press or tap the skin instead of using your nails.
7. Does nothing help? Go to the doctor
In some cases, itching is caused by a disease, infection or fungus. Itching can also be a side effect of a medication. A visit to the GP therefore can do no harm if it itch does not pass.
