Parents reassured: “Here, I am sure they are doing their homework”
Océane*, a CE1 student, attends a school in Fameck. Since the start of the year, she has spent two evenings a week at the Jean-Morette social center. “School support” sessions are offered for primary and middle school students. Under the guidance of qualified staff, they benefit from homework assistance, but also from educational and cultural activities.
Laura*, Océane’s mother, registered her two children last year. She repeated the experience this year. “At school, we were advised to enroll her because she was having difficulties,” she says.
For an hour and a half, the student does their homework, supervised by instructors. The results are convincing. “I feel more confident. We see the difference with the house: it is more attentive. At home, she is more distracted,” summarizes her mother, thus reassured: “At least, twice a week, we are sure that she does her homework. »
The academic support sessions are included in the activity program of the social center, and accessible for a nominal price, of a few euros per year. They are full this year: sixty students are welcomed, in total, at the Jean-Morette center.
