Estonian natural gas and electricity seller “Eesti Gaas” plans to reduce the price of natural gas for households starting in October, as the price on the gas market has fallen.
The company plans to announce the new price next week.
For Estonian retail consumers, the price of “Eesti Gaas” rose to 2.6 euros per cubic meter in September, while in October it is expected to rise to 4.1 euros.
The price of gas for households is basically made up of the purchase price of gas on the stock exchange, which has fallen in recent weeks, so the company can offer a lower price to consumers as well.
The price of gas on the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF) reached € 184 per megawatt hour on Tuesday. At the beginning of September the price exceeded 330 euros per megawatt hour, but now the price increase has stopped, as large European countries have found alternatives to Russian natural gas supplies.
Using the “Elenger” brand, “Eesti Gaas” also operates in foreign markets – in Latvia, Lithuania and Finland.
The sole shareholder of “Eesti Gaas” is “Trilini Energy”, a subsidiary of the Estonian investment company “Infortar”.
