Edy Rahmayadi Will Report Back to Billiards Coach, Questioning the Word ‘Evil’

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi planning to report back pool coach Khairuddin Aritonang or Choki to the police. Choki was judged to have said inappropriate words during a polemic, one of which was by calling the former Kostrad commander an evil one.

“We are considering making a report as well, speaking of evil words, that may also blasphemy, we are considering making a police report,” said Edy Rahmayadi’s lawyer, Junirwan Kurnia, Thursday (6/1).

Junirwan said the mention of evil was very harsh and included in the context of blasphemy. Moreover, those remarks had absolutely no relevance to the polemic he was facing with Edy Rahmayadi.

“The word evil, look at the big Indonesian dictionary, what does it mean? cursed even in the understanding of Muslims it is synonymous with hell. Is it irrelevant, isn’t it relevant? The goal is just to insult,” said Junirwan.

However, Junirwan has not confirmed when the report will be submitted.

“We will see future developments,” he said

Junirwan also regrets why Choki reported Edy Rahmayadi to the North Sumatran Police because he was manipulated during the awarding of outstanding PON athletes at the Governor’s Office. He assessed that Choki’s report was ridden by a certain person.

“That’s an internal (problem), why is it? blow up, what is the purpose? if you want to report, just report, if there is enough evidence, go ahead. But the problem now is why it’s exaggerated, reported, all kinds of things. I suspect someone is riding it,” he said.

During the event, according to Junirwan, Edy Rahmayadi positioned himself as a coach who was building his staff. In addition, the problem should be resolved at KONI.

“That’s the governor according to Law No. 3 of 2005 concerning the national sports system, may as a builder. So (this case), too dramatized and then in blow up to the media,” said Junirwan

Khoiruddin Aritonang was manipulated and expelled by the Governor of North Sumatra (North Sumatra) Edy Rahmayadi during a ceremony to provide affection for athletes and coaches of XX PON in Papua at Tengku Rizal Nurdin Hall, Monday (27/12) afternoon.

In the video circulating, Edy is giving a speech at the event. Then Edy called Choki as the PON billiards coach in Papua because he did not applaud. Edy called him up on stage. Edy asked for his identity, origin and his position in the contingent. Choki then replied that he was a coach.

“The coach did not applaud. Not suitable to be this coach,” said Edy while pulling the billiards coach.

There was laughter in the audience. But a moment later the atmosphere sounded tense. Then Edy Rahmayadi asked the coach not to be in the room. Even Edy also called it sontoloyo.

“You don’t need to use it anymore. You get out right away. You don’t have to be here,” said Edy in the video recording.
