A person named Edy Mulyadi was reported to the North Sulawesi Regional Police (ignite) for allegedly insulting the Minister of Defense and General Chair of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto.
“Yes (reported), Pak Prabowo Subianto is our general chairman, the icon of the Gerindra Party, the pride of Gerindra Party cadres. So we do not accept that Pak Prabowo Subianto is insulted and slandered by people,” said Chairman of the Gerindra DPD Sulut Conny Lolyta Rumondor when asked for confirmation, Saturday ( 22/1).
Edy was reportedly affected by a snippet of his statement in a video that allegedly insulted Prabowo. He called Prabowo like a ‘tiger meowing’.
“How can the Minister of Defense not understand this? A 3-star general. A tiger that looks like meowing. Just don’t understand. Hello, Prabowo? Prabowo Subianto, can you hear my voice? That’s not included in the calculation, are you the Minister of Defense?” Edy said in the video.
The report was registered in the police report (LP) numbered LP/B/29/I/2022/SPKT/POLDA SULUT. Edy was reported on suspicion of committing hate speech through social media on January 21, 2022.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police, Kombes Jules Abraham Abast, said he would first examine the report.
“I’ll check first,” Jules said.
Separately, the chairman of the daily Gerindra DPP, Sufmi Dasco, claimed that the report against Edy at the North Sulawesi Regional Police was not in the name of the Gerindra Party.
“Check again whether the report is in the name of the party or not. As far as I know it is not in the name of the party,” said Dasco.
The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP also conveyed Prabowo’s directions for his cadres in responding to something. According to him, Prabowo has never directed his cadres to report to each other to the police.
“Pak Prabowo himself always directs his cadres to respond carefully and wisely and there has never been a directive to report,” he said.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Minister of Defense, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, said that Prabowo did not have time to deal with hoax spreaders.
“(Pak Prabowo) doesn’t have time to deal with hoax spreaders,” said Dahnil, Saturday (22/1).
