Face-to-face classes resume, it is one of the announcements that appear in the main media. Parents are the first to ask themselves, do I send my children to study in person or not? Because the pandemic does not end there is a dilemma.
The Ministry of Education and the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt) reassured. They say that the return to face-to-face classes is voluntary and progressive. With this provision there are more concerns than successes for teachers and students. The fact of returning to face-to-face classes is that teachers must plan for classes for students who chose the face-to-face mode, and other planning for students who continue in classes online from their homes. Other concerns arise within public educational institutions, limited access to the internet is one of the drawbacks. Many teachers do not keep their virtual classes one hundred percent due to the saturation of the internet service. This problem, of educating online from educational establishments, is found in most public educational centers in the rural sector and on a small scale in the urban sector. It has not been possible for all school institutions to have internet, teachers have to spend out of their pockets to hire good internet plans. The return to face-to-face classes is a great challenge in rural areas and poor sectors. (OR)
