At the call of national education unions, around thirty teachers demonstrated against the shock of knowledge measures this Tuesday noon in front of the rectorate in Besançon. According to them, “the decrees and circulars do not respond to the real problems of the school”. The anger concerns in particular the establishment of level groups in middle school, at the next school year, in French and mathematics.
The criticisms are of two kinds. First of all, according to the teachers, “this organization has never shown its educational effectiveness”. It is stigmatizing and is not a source of motivation for learning. Furthermore, “the human resources within National Education do not currently make it possible to cover part of the overtime” that the implementation of such a measure represents.
“In reality, it’s a lot of announcements and the final implementation, locally, and in any case very complicated to put in place” concludes this professor of History Geography, representative of the SNES/FSU in the Jura.
