Education under tarpaulins – weekly paper

Villarrica: Pupils at Curuzú Francisco Elementary School No. 4095, in the Santa Lucía neighborhood of the capital of Guairá, will be able to enjoy education, but under precarious conditions, namely under canvas tents.

The city administration was once again unable to carry out the construction work for the classrooms. For his part, the Mayor of Villarrica confirmed that they had carried out the authorization process, but that the obstacle was at central level.

The director of the educational institution, Toribia Rosales, mentioned that they will start the school on February 20th. The big surprise was that the city administration could not carry out the work on 3 classrooms of the facility, so that the lessons had to be held behind tarpaulins again.

Rosales pointed out that the municipality informed them that contracts with the country’s capital had not allowed the city government to obtain the appropriate funds to carry out the work.

She added that last year she asked for all photos and reports to be sent to the Ministry of Education in Asuncion so that work can begin.
