Education: Tra Tanan Ruth Esther, “Génie littéraire” de Jacqueville

Ruth Esther Tra Tranan is now Jacqueville’s little “literary genius”. She is a student in class of 5th and won the literary competition “Génies Littéraires” initiated by the Ivorian Association of Pedagogues for Development (Aiped).

The Jacqueville municipal high school hosted the launch of the first edition of “Génies Littéraires” on Friday, February 12, 2021. 20 candidates tested their literary skills through a series of exercises.

The candidates had to speak out on issues that undermine education, namely drugs and school pregnancies. This exercise allowed the members of the jury to assess the eloquence, presence and style of the candidates. There was also the spelling, reading and incomplete text test which involves candidates writing the word correctly.

At the end of the competition, the jury elected Ruth Esther Tra Tranan.

1st TRA Tanan 19.00 / 20, ranked 2nd KONAN Marie 18.50 / 20 student in 6th grade and 3rd GINGANE 18.33 / 20 student in 3rd grade.

For the promoter of this competition Michèle Koffi, through the creation of this competition, “we want to arouse a taste for literature in learners and the pupils will be led to develop certain skills because literature is the mother of all sciences”.

She said that this competition extends from primary to secondary, therefore invites all players in the education system to get involved in this competition “beyond the festive aspect, Génies Littéraires sends a clear signal to the players in the system educational, in this case the need to build a new type of student, fond of a job well done and educated in the values ​​of our republic “, said the promoter.

Germain Zroh, principal of the Lycée Municipal de Jacqueville, for his part appreciated the initiative and encouraged the students to get involved in this activity.
