More offers of literacy and basic education courses
Adults with reading and writing problems should be given more support in Brandenburg in the future. The Ministry of Education is planning a significant expansion of literacy and basic education courses. According to the ministry, the number of basic education centers is to be increased from the current 9 to 18 and the range of courses in prisons is to be increased. “Education is not a question of age. In the future, those who are interested should be reached even better with offers that are as close to where they live as possible,” explained Education Minister Britta Ernst (SPD) on Friday. Accordingly, the courses should be paid primarily from funds from the European Social Fund Plus.
