Magdeburg (dpa / sa) – In view of the comparatively low corona numbers, all children and adolescents in Saxony-Anhalt will soon be able to go to school every day. In all districts and urban districts with an incidence of less than 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, regular classes could take place in every type of school from May 31, the Ministry of Education announced on Thursday in Magdeburg.

From June 7th, this will definitely be the case for values ​​below 100. In the week in between, the school administrators decide on the form of teaching. The requirement to be present remains suspended. “The schools can finally return to normal operation. We are of course maintaining the obligation to test and other hygiene measures and can thus enable a largely regular school operation,” said Education Minister Marco Tullner (CDU). The alternation model is currently in effect at secondary schools in particular; at elementary and special needs schools, teaching is usually back to normal.

In all parts of Saxony-Anhalt, the so-called federal emergency brake is now out of force, as it was said. Only two counties had a seven-day incidence of more than 50 on Thursday.
