The tools for transmitting a political discourse are various. But, when working on the Second World War and alluding to the United States, it is really important to evaluate the cinematographic productions that took place in this period. With all of the above in mind, it is worth asking how Walt Disney’s cartoons served to project anti-Nazi political discourse in the United States during World War II. Due to the fact that the main theories of international relations lack elements to evaluate the contemporary world, and that there is a surprising aspect regarding the strategy chosen by the United States government to transmit the discourse against Nazism, this essay intends to evaluate, through a post-structuralist theory, a tool which, while seeking to entertain an audience, served political ends. It can be said that Walt Disney’s cartoons – Education for Death is a specific example – served to project the political discourse of the United States because, in addition to being financed by the United States government, they conveyed a clear message of rejection of the enemy ( Nazism), using three key tools: simulation, surveillance and speed.
