Education in Algeria: unique subsidies to strengthen educational institutions

The ministry ofNational education they recently announced additional grants to schools for the 2024 budget year.

This financial support, between 580,000 and 1,000,000 dinars, aims to meet the special needs of middle and high schools in terms of working and improving learning conditions.

Secondary schools will benefit, in particular, from different amounts depending on their status: one million dinars for institutions with boarding schools, 900,000 dinars for semi-boarding, and 800,000 dinars for day schools.

Regarding colleges, the allocated amounts vary from 580,000 dinars to 780,000 dinars according to the same criteria. Institutions must allocate this money, above all, to the payment of water, electricity and gas bills, to ensure optimal operation.

School sport at the heart of priorities

In addition, part of these subsidies, ie 150,000 dinars per institution, will be given to the organization of the national school competition for team sports.

This competition is planned under the theme “Our champions in our classes”will be held in several stages, from the municipal elections to the finals in June 2025. These initiatives are part of the desire to promote sports values ​​and develop talents among young people.

At the same time, the ministry he called for the need to respect budget closing procedures while ensuring the implementation of sports and educational activities in the best conditions. These measures, in the end, show the authorities’ commitment to better education and sports management.

By investing in schools and promoting initiatives such as school sports, the Ministry of National Education is, in fact, reinforcing its commitment to providing a framework that supports student development.
