On January 12, 2023, the regional education conference of the SPÖ took place in Liezen.
In addition to numerous delegates, regional education chairman Andreas Leeb was also able to welcome guests of honor, such as State Department Michaela Grubesa and state education chairman State Department Wolfgang Moitzi.
Since 2016, Andreas Leeb and his team have been in charge of the regional training courses for the Social Democrats. A total of 280 participants have been recruited for 22 seminars in recent years. In order to be able to guarantee a comprehensive range of seminars even in times of a pandemic, numerous seminars were held online.
In his report, regional education chairman Leeb went into detail about the previous seminars and was able to provide a good overview of the next seminars a little later. “Education is an essential part of social democracy and must therefore also be lived in our region,” says Leeb.
Various further training opportunities will take place in the next few months for both officials and traditional party members in the Liezen district.
After an interesting review of the last few years and an outlook on the planned further training activities, the guests of honor had their say.
In her short presentation, Michaela Grubesa, member of the state parliament from the district of Liezen, focused on elementary education and the importance of further training. Member of the state parliament and state education chairman Wolfgang Moitzi focused his attention on the various offers of the Styrian Renner Institute. Both emphasized the importance of the regional further training offers, which are offered annually.
This was followed by the election of the regional education board. Regional education chairman Andreas Leeb (from Irdning-Donnersbachtal), Patrick Mittermaier (deputy regional education chairman, from Ardning), Marlene Wagner (secretary, from Admont) and Roland Nerwein (deputy secretary, from Öblarn) were unanimously confirmed in their positions.
Following the regional conference, those present were able to round off the evening in a relaxed atmosphere at the New Year’s reception.
