Education. FSU estimates that “the equivalent of more than 148 positions” will be cut in the academy

The rector of the Dijon academy, Nathalie Albert-Moretti, presented, on Wednesday, the means that will be made available to primary and secondary establishments from the start of the 2021 school year, with a common thread, the constant decline the number of students in the region. Thus, the Ministry of Education has decided to withdraw 73 posts in teaching resources for secondary education, at the level of the academy, as of the next school year.

A figure disputed by the FSU (Unitary Union Federation) of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, this Thursday, in a press release: “At the start of the next school year, while there will be 43,000 more students in the second level, the ministry plans to cut 1,883 jobs across France. […] For the Dijon academy, the equivalent of 73 deletions is planned for the next school year by the ministry. In the documents sent by the rectorate, it will a priori be the equivalent of more than 148 positions which will ultimately be eliminated “.

“It is the high schools that will pay the heaviest price”

According to the FSU, “it is the high schools that will pay the heaviest price! According to the data sent by the rectorate for the academic technical committee, it will therefore be at least a loss of the equivalent of 77 posts in colleges, of 40 posts in GT high schools (general and technological, editor’s note), 34 positions in LP (vocational secondary schools, editor’s note); that is to say much more than the 73 positions planned by the ministry. “

The union further believes that “the students in greatest difficulty will also be impacted because the allocations of Segpa (sections of general and adapted vocational education, editor’s note) will also be reduced. If we add to this the non-anticipation of health consequences on passing the baccalaureate is a 2021 start that promises to be anything but serene and anything but better for our students “.

The FSU “strongly denounces the conditions of preparation for re-entry and will continue to fight this disinvestment in national education”.
