The state budget is currently being drawn up in Rhineland-Palatinate. What are the priorities of the smallest traffic light partner?

The FDP parliamentary group says it is particularly committed to universities in the current budget negotiations, Education and the schools of the future are strong. “The Free Democrats were the driving force behind the coalition on these issues,” said parliamentary group leader Philipp Fernis in an interview with the German Press Agency in Mainz. “The digital competence center of the State Pedagogical Institute and digital education, for example, are there, that comes from our state election program.”

The settlement policy is another focus of the Liberals, which Economics Minister Daniela Schmitt is committed to. Added to this is the goal of reducing bureaucracy. “There will still be a lot of things that, as far as we have control, will move.”

The Free Democrats also constantly achieved something for farmers and winemakers at the national and European level. “For example, we were able to avert the European Plant Protection Directive. That would have been the end of steep-slope winegrowing in Rhineland-Palatinate in particular.”
