Camille Pouponneau, mayor, takes stock of municipal actions in favor of education during an interview
Pibrac offers a complete school course from kindergarten to high school. What is the state of play?
All the establishments are in excellent condition: well-maintained or even new schools such as the elementary school which has been welcoming students since this year, a completely renovated middle school and a recent high school.
What is the state of mind of the parents?
The current economic and social situation and the still strong social determinism contribute enormously to the anxiety of parents who fear that their children will have a less easy life than them… “Eco-anxiety” reinforces this feeling. On the other hand, the operating conditions proposed by the State worry them: lack of AESH, non-replacement of absent teachers…
How will the primary structures evolve next year?
We will support the opening of a ULIS class (special class for the education of students with disabilities). The closure of a class is recorded by the administration.
What actions does the city implement in its schools?
The Territorial Educational Project (PEDT) brings together all the educational actors to carry out numerous actions and work on the concerns of parents. The environment is particularly concerned with the work on soft mobility to encourage cycling, waste management in the canteen, the establishment of the ecological farm which will contribute to organic food or the taste workshop… A work on multiculturalism and intergenerational issues is in progress. The educational watch is effective, which makes it possible to deal with the problems as a whole.
How do you conceive of education?
The question of education is essential. I am convinced of the imperative need to offer the best possible conditions to young people: the city will continue to do its part.
