The Secretariat of Education of Campinas (SP) opened this Monday (22) the registration for families of students from the municipal school system who wish to receive basic food baskets and fruit and vegetable kits. The deadline extends until Friday (26).

Parents and guardians of students must contact the school where the student is enrolled, in person, by e-mail or telephone, to register.

According to the Ministry, in 2021 there are 40 thousand registered families. José Tadeu Jorge, Secretary of Education, points out that there is an expectation of a significant increase in this number in the new registration, reaching up to 55 thousand families.

The distribution of basic food baskets and horticulture kits began in April 2020 with the arrival of the pandemic. Throughout the year 2020, 244 thousand baskets and 170 thousand kits containing fruits, vegetables and eggs were delivered. This year, 28,800 basic food baskets and 33,000 fruit and vegetable kits were delivered until March.
