Education considers paying in advance the taxi to the students of Quirós and Teverga (Asturias)
The Ministry of Education of the Principality of Asturias is planning to advance transport assistance to families in rural areas who were not approved to transfer from their villages to the school bus stop.
In that case, there are two students from the region, in Teverga and Quirós (Asturias). In the first case the distance is five kilometers, and in the second, three.
The Minister of Education, Carmen Suárez, assured today in the General Meeting that the maximum aid for these cases is 6,000 euros, and that the possibility of advancing the money to families is being studied.
Last week, the mayors of Quirós, Rodrigo Suárez, and Teverga, María Amor Álvarez Ardura, denounced that the problem remains unsolved, after sending the three taxi estimates requested by the council to grant the aid.
The situation of these schoolchildren, and the long journey that all Quirós students take, who leave home at half past six in the morning, were taken to the plenary session.
