Education Coahuila trains in the domain of digital tools

Through Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams tools, the State Secretary of Education (SE) offers training to teachers, students and administrative staff for the efficient management of distance education and administrative process. The interest is to continue the educational task during the Covid-19 pandemic, reported Gerardo Hernández Gómez, General Director of Information Technologies of the SE.

He commented that the extraordinary situation led to the accelerated development of digital skills to organize, hold and chair online sessions; carry out procedures at a distance and carry out tasks for correct learning through the internet, social networks and other means, so it is essential to move forward to accentuate skill in the use of these tools.

Through Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams, he pointed out, access to courses is facilitated to master digital tools that allow remote collaboration, participate in their class groups and collaboration; interact actively in didactic proposals with access to digital resources; deliver tasks and manage work materials in a personalized way; deliver and develop projects; run classes online or remotely; compose your automatic evidence portfolios, and work on digital notebooks for scenarios without permanent connectivity.

The state official announced that from January 26 to February 3, the training focuses on teachers. For students, the process is organized for February 2-5, 2021. While for administrative staff, the training will be open from February 2-5, 2021.

For the teacher, the advantage offered by the courses is to create and manage class groups, give personalized follow-up to each student and run classes online or at a distance, Hernández Gómez mentioned.

While, for educational or administrative support staff, the courses allow them to learn about digital tools to collaborate remotely; create and manage collaboration groups; organize job proposals with access to digital resources; assign activities and manage resources in a personalized way; collect, evaluate and return projects; give personalized follow-up to each member of the community, and organize online videoconferences.

Hernández Gómez added: “Organizing videoconferences as a strategy to attend, inform and guide on the actions underway by the SE, was a very useful tool, and with this, the recommendation of the Government of the State of Coahuila to maintain healthy distance, by avoiding the transfer of educational personnel to central offices and effectively meeting all demands ”.
