Question n ° 21967 addressed to the Minister of National Education, Youth and Sports
Ms. Laurence Cohen questions the Minister of National Education, Youth and Sports, on the consequences of the health crisis and teachers not replaced, especially in the first degree and secondary. Indeed, a recent journalistic investigation has just revealed that some teachers benefiting from a special leave of absence are replaced by educational assistants (AED) to provide lessons. This situation, obviously more and more frequent, is aberrant. Educational assistants are not trained to teach chemistry, English, philosophy etc. Their role and their relationships with middle school and high school students are totally different, which creates an inappropriate mix of genres, putting them in difficulty, and depending on their feelings, even failing the students. In addition, these AEDs do not benefit from any additional remuneration for this new workload, with increased responsibilities. Due to the exponential number of Covid-19 contaminations in schools, in recent weeks, the number of absent teachers has exploded. More and more students find themselves without a replacement, which raises the question of pedagogical continuity, in a very complicated context for more than a year. But the use of these supervisors, under such conditions, without training, without adequate contract and salary, cannot be the solution. In November and March, the ministry released exceptional funds to finance temporary contracts in the 1st degree and for the second degree, to ensure the replacement of teachers. Also, it asks him, on the one hand, to specify how these credits were used, distributed and on what types of posts, and what are the avenues envisaged by the Government so that all the establishments that need them can have them. remedies, including in primary schools. The Government emphasizes maintaining the opening of schools, in the midst of a health crisis. However, this opening must be possible, under good conditions, both in terms of health and education, which seems less and less the case, and is of great concern.
