The benefits under the education and participation package have been around for ten years. Educational and participation package benefits benefit children and young people who receive social benefits in accordance with Social Code II, XII, the Housing Allowance Act or child allowance.
Since March 1st there have been changes in the reimbursement of the cost of lunch and learning support in the Reutlingen district. For appropriate learning support, up to 22 euros per hour are now subsidized, regardless of whether the service provider is a private person or a commercial provider. This is announced by the Reutlingen district office. If the cost of lunch is covered, the billable expense per lunch increases to a maximum of 6.75 euros from March 1st. Vouchers that have already been issued will not be replaced. If in the future costs for a lunch exceed the 5.50 euros specified in a voucher that has already been issued, expenses incurred for periods from March 1st can be billed at up to 6.75 euros per lunch.
Furthermore, for recipients of benefits according to SGB II (JobCenter) and SGB XII (District Social Office or Social Welfare Office City of Reutlingen), the benefits are included in the basic application. Recipients of housing benefit and child allowance, on the other hand, have to submit an application for benefits for education and participation to the district social welfare office or to the social welfare office of the city of Reutlingen, depending on where they live.
The services of the education and participation package are worthwhile. An application and, if necessary, further evidence are not as bureaucratic as expected. It is recommended to take advantage of this support for children and adolescents because the support enables a lot.

Help with school trips and excursions
The education and participation package Applies to some activities: support with a school trip as well as excursions to the school or kindergarten, a lump sum for school supplies with currently 154.50 euros per calendar year. Under certain conditions, there is help for the travel costs for the bus or train to school, support with adequate learning support, a voucher for communal lunch at school or kindergarten, and participation in activities in the areas of sport, games, culture or socializing with 15 euros per month.
