The Secretary of Energy of the Nation and one of the authors of the omnibus law, Eduardo Rodríguez Chirillo, made a curious mistake this Tuesday by getting the surname of one of the members of the National Congress wrong.
The official was answering questions from legislators about the omnibus law on behalf of the deputies in the plenary session of the General Legislation, Constitutional Affairs and Budget Committees, when he made a blooper that sparked laughter from those present.
“As for what Deputy Lopilato commented, I think it is…,” said Chirillo in reference to Deputy Silvia Lospennato, confusing her with the actress Luisana. He was quickly corrected by an advisor who was next to him, and corrected the mistake with a smile: “Lospennato, excuse the names, please, they are going to give me a blooper with this.”

Rodríguez Chirillo made these statements when speaking before a plenary session of commissions of national deputies, in the debate of the bill through which the Government proposes a profound economic and legislative reform.
“It’s not a blank check”
In his presentation, the Secretary of Energy of the Nation clarified that the inclusion of the request for powers delegated to the Executive Branch by Parliament “is not a request for a blank check nor is it intended to close Congress.”
“Some blocks told us that the term of the delegated powers for two years with the possibility of extension for two more years could be too long, and we are considering making it one and one to include it in the final version,” added Rodríguez Chirillo.

In that sense, he pointed out that “very specific things are requested and we are talking about a deadline that could be shorter. In addition, the request is much more precise and modern compared to all previous State reforms.”
“The law is structured in 9 titles in addition to the annexes and each title is organized with each Ministry, and in matters of public emergency, it establishes objects and principles that follow the legislative technique,” added the official.
