CD Tenerife announced this Wednesday the first reinforcement for the 2021-2022 season. Alex Corredera, a 25-year-old midfielder from CD Badajoz where he has been for the last two seasons, became the new brain of the Tenerife team for Luis Miguel Ramis’ midfield. He made his debut in the Second Division playing three games for Almeria (also with the Tarragona coach on the bench), and for the next three seasons he becomes a member of the Blue and White squad. Signing yearned for by Cordero for months (recognized by the sports director himself), Corredera already dreams of wearing the CD Tenerife shirt as soon as possible.
Barely two weeks ago he was on the verge of promotion with his previous club. The Badajoz team lost the decisive tie against Amorebieta (0-1) and the promotion options so sought after in the club that owned the Nuevo Vivero were diluted. Precisely, from his time in Extremadura, there is a player who knows the characteristics of Corredera very well. Brazilian striker Edu Salles, who was signed by CD Mensajero last winter market for the Canarian group of Tercera, coincided with his experience in Extremadura as a player for CF Trujillo and Miajadas. As soon as the official status of his signing was known, he answered the call from Radio Club Tenerife, and predicted a good football career as Alex’s blue and white: “It is a very successful signing that CD Tenerife has made with Alex Corredera. The blue and white fan is going to to freak out with what this guy plays, “commented the scorer of the La Palma box.
Edu, who has recently been promoted to the new Second RFEF, is convinced of the good performance that Corredera will offer on the island: “I lived in a town near the province of Badajoz and I was going to see him play. He has a lot of quality, is a very complete player, a footballer who has speed, power, strength, has a lot of quality with his left foot, good hitting, arrival, goals … I think Tenerife has made a good signing. He is a player who has shown that he is of superior categories , I am sure that here in the Canary Islands he will show it. Now I will be able to continue enjoying his football here, “he commented.
