The cartels of Jalisco New Generation, Knights Templar, Michoacana family and United Warriors are the criminal groups that operate in the State of Mexico and dispute the control of the entity, revealed the Secretary of Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval,
The above after receiving in Press conference President Andrés López Obrador’s order to show for a single occasion the criminal mapping done by the government’s intelligence areas.
The official explained that in addition there are two criminal groups in Mexico City, but said they are not cartels and avoided identifying them by name. “We would speak throughout the area of six criminal groups operating in the metropolitan area,” he said.
According to the information presented this morning, the authorities have identified the leaders of these cartels, including Jallegedly Hurtado Olascoaga, The fish, head of La Familia; Rodolfo Maldonado Bustos, Mr Jose, of the Knights Templar; Omar Ramses, The Calaca, from the Jalisco cartel and Ángel Casarrubias Salgado, United Warriors.
The official even explained that there is currently an alliance between Lto Family and the Knights Templar with which they managed to displace United Warriors from a large part of the Mexican territory.
“This is what is analyzed, the presence of the groups, where they have influence, how they interact, what alliances they have between them,” he added.
López Obrador stressed that this information shows that his government works with intelligence and “not clubbing the hornet’s nest.” In this regard, the Secretary of Security, Alfonso Durazo, explained much of the violence generated in the State of Mexico and regions such as Sonora and Guanajuato derives from the fragility of alliances between criminals, since when they break they begin to confront each other.
