Rome, 26 Nov. (askanews) – Edoardo Patriarca has been re-elected national president of the National Association of Elderly Workers, ANLA. The investiture took place at the end of the elective Assembly of the Association which took place on 23 November in Florence.
President Patriarca expressed his profound satisfaction with the confirmation at the helm of ANLA which has undertaken a path of structural renewal in light of the reform of the Third Sector and underlined: “ANLA has existed since 1949 and therefore this year crosses the finish line of 75 years of activity. We are about to face a new period of association, a new stage in a path that our fathers started and that we ideally hand down to our children, itself a witness to an intergenerational relationship, to a dialogue between generations that has become our strong point ”.
President Patriarca recalled the recent publication of the ANLA 2024 Report dedicated to the role of grandparents in Italian society and announced the continuation of this initiative previewed to Pope Francis last September: “We are an Association of elderly workers and have always we care about dialogue between generations. We realized that the first dialogue takes place in the family and we identified the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren as the privileged place and time to ensure the transmission of values, affection and experience. We will dedicate the 2025 edition of the Report to this dialogue, a new research on grandparents, which will be our contribution to building the common good”.
Finally, President Patriarca wanted to underline the importance of the company’s senior groups, which are the basis of the Association: “ANLA has many faces, many souls, I cannot help but remember at this moment the precious role played by the company’s senior groups. A further area of our next commitment will be to evaluate the possibility of relaunching the function of the company’s elderly group within the welfare designed by the Third Sector reform for socially attentive companies. Corporate senior groups can play the valuable role of link between civil society in the context in which the company operates and the company itself”.
**How does ANLA plan to leverage the Third Sector reforms to strengthen its advocacy efforts and better serve the needs of elderly workers, especially in light of the aging population in Italy?**
