The Edmonton Oilers equalized on Friday (local time) in the quarterfinals of the National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs against the Calgary Flames in the “best of seven” comparison with a 5-3 away win to 1-1. The Flames were 2-0 up after six minutes, but the visitors, powered by Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl (one goal each), turned the game around. The Carolina Hurricanes, on the other hand, took a 2-0 lead against the New York Rangers.
The score in the game was 2:0. Match winners at home were Sebastian Aho with a goal and an assist and goalkeeper Antti Raanta with a shutout. The Hurricanes set a club record with their sixth straight home win in the playoffs. Neither McDavid nor Draisaitl got the decisive Oilers goal, but Zach Hyman with the 4:3 almost ten minutes before the end of the game. The series are now moving to Edmonton and New York.
