The Edmonton Oilers are one win away from the semifinals in the NHL playoffs.
Superstar Leon Draisaitl led the Oilers to a 5-3 win over the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night with three assists. Edmonton is now leading 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. In the fifth game next Friday, the Canadians can convert the first of three match points. Not only Draisaitl was outstanding in the fourth edition of the “Battle of Alberta”, but also Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The Canadian shone with two goals, the most ice time (22:44) and five blocked shots.
In the second quarterfinal game of the evening, the New York Rangers equalized the series against the Carolina Hurricanes with a 4-1 win to 2-2.
